Our settlement is in the southern part of the Kirov Oblast, in the district of Sanchursk. It is 20km from the village of Matvinur, and 2km from the highway, where there are regular public transport connections.

Surrounding the settlement on both banks of the Kurtyeki River there is thick forestland. The river is approximately 4 metres wide.

Nearby there is a waterfall which cascades into a lake. On the banks of the Kurtyeki River you can make out the ruins of an old village from the remaining brick structures. It is now overgrown. Further from the river there are fields surrounded by woodland. Beneath the top layer of soil there is clay and perhaps sand further down.
The place feels very wild: there are moose tracks, lush vegetation and many different birds. Beavers live near the river. Forests have both coniferous and deciduous trees. The terrain is rugged.
